Since its inception in 1982, The Juhu Parle Education Society’s – Utpal Shanghvi Global School has grown from strength to strength and tasted success in every endeavour it has dreamed of and taken on. Launched IB Middle School In 2026

Our challenging curriculum with varied subject groups and real-world learning from field studies to collaborative projects gives every learner the space to find their voice.

Eight Subject Groups: To acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for the future, students are given a broad and balanced choice of subjects, including Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical and Health Education, and Design.

Interdisciplinary learning: To strengthen cross-curricular skills and deepen disciplinary understanding, at least one collaborative interdisciplinary unit is designed annually.

Approaches to Learning (ATL): A core focus on developing skills for research, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and self-management. Through approaches to learning, students develop skills relevant across the curriculum that help them “learn how to learn.”

Community Engagement: A form of learning where students engage respectfully and equitably with their communities. They use the knowledge and skills they learn in the classroom to help others and make a difference. Through this, they grow into active, caring, and responsible citizens.

Criterion Assessment: Students are assessed against established criteria (Levels 1-8) rather than on a marks-based system.

The Middle School program focuses on higher-order thinking skills, giving students opportunities to explore different levels of challenge, become problem-solvers by making connections across learning areas, and promote deeper learning.

Assessments are designed to inculcate a research-driven mindset. Innovative assessments ensure visible learning after every unit of inquiry that will eventually culminate in a PYP exhibition.

Professional Readiness at USGS

The constructive environment and strong work ethic at USGS & PPSIJC makes every member of the institution spontaneously imbibe lifelong learning. Leading from the front and by example is our fountainhead, Principal Mrs. Rakhi Mukherjee who has consistently worked towards excellence. Mrs. Mukherjee has successfully completed the month-long ‘Head of School- PYP’ workshop organised by the IB Professional Development Department and led by experienced practitioners of the IB.
