▪️ Foundation stone of Utpal Shanghvi School laid.

▪️ The construction of the school building is completed.

June, 1982

▪️ First branch blossoms, the first classes of the pre-primary and primary sections begin.

▪️ The new branch, Secondary section commences with the SSC curriculum.

June, 1983
1984

▪️ Shri Balwant. P. Sheth becomes the President of the Juhu Parle Education Society.

▪️ Smt. Abha Dharam Pal joins as Principal.
▪️ Introducing the Student Council.
▪️ School building expansion: stilt area and two-storey addition.
 

1985
June, 1986

▪️ The first batch of SSC appears for the examination of their SSC board.
▪️ Utpal Shanghvi School hosts the K-West Ward Level Science Exhibition.

▪️ Computer Laboratory set up.

1989
1990

▪️ 100% results at the SSC examination.
▪️ Interact Club of Utpal Shanghvi School formed under the aegis of Rotary Club of Bombay Airport.
▪️ Launch of the Utpal Shanghvi School’s Parent Teacher Management Forum (PTMF).
 ▪️ Fully equipped Science Laboratories added. 

 

▪️ Third floor added to the existing school building.
▪️ Utpal Shanghvi School hosted the Interact District Assembly with over 780 delegates.
▪️ Playground of 51,927 sq. ft. allotted to JPES by the Juhu Vile Parle Development Co-operative Housing Association Ltd.

1991
1992

▪️ Conditioning practice introduced for all classes.
▪️ First edition of school magazine “Utsah” launched.
▪️ India’s first animation workshop for school students, conducted by Utpal Shanghvi School jointly with Smt. Jaya Bachchan, Chairperson of Children’s Film Society.

▪️ Inauguration of the SMT. Deviben Hasmukh Mehta Auditorium.
▪️ Smt. Abha Dharam Pal on the selection Committee of the Children’s Film Society of India.
▪️ India’s First Animation Film “Film on a Film” Prepared by our students, screened at the International Film Festival in France.
▪️ In-service training programs introduced for staff.

1993
1996

▪️ 6 students of Utpal Shanghvi School selected to represent India under the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.

▪️ Computer Laboratory upgraded with Internet connectivity.
▪️ Additional Constructed area added to the original structure, which comes to 19,480 sq.ft. adding 30 additional rooms, including the Training center and Interaction room.
▪️ Philosophy, mission statement, motto and slogan of Utpal Shanghvi School developed.

1998
1999

▪️ Shri Jayesh Choksi becomes the President of JPES.
▪️ First edition of the school Newsletter “One 2 One” launched.

▪️ Human Resource Development (HRD), a new subject launched as part of the school curriculum.

2000
2001

▪️ Nursery Section introduced.
▪️ Smt. Abha Dharam Pal receives the National Award for best Teacher by the Govt. Of India at Delhi.

▪️ State of the Art AV room inaugurated.
▪️ Utpal Shanghvi School awarded the first Computer Literacy Excellence award for schools by Govt. Of India.

2002
2003

▪️ Utpal Shanghvi School becomes the first school in India to be given the ISO:9001:1994 certification.

▪️ Utpal Shanghvi School became a registered center for the University Of Cambridge International Examinations.
▪️ Launch of International General Certificate of Secondary Examination (IGCSE) Qualification.
▪️ Checkpoint introduced in class 8.

2005
2006

▪️ The CIPP offered by the University Of Cambridge International Examinations for classes 1-6.
▪️ Development of Global Partnership with Mount’s Bay school, Cornwall, UK.

▪️ Smt. Abha Dharam Pal receives the Lifetime Achievement award from the Lion’s Club.
▪️ JPES, in collaboration with ACTED, introduces a course in Actuarial Science in its premises.
▪️ USS gets the ISA award from the British Council.
▪️ Up gradation of the ISO to 9001:2000 certification.

2007
2008

▪️ First batch of 84 students appear for the IGCSE examination with ICE.
▪️ A Level (PPSIJC) launched providing a smooth transition from IGCSE. 

▪️ State of the art exclusive area for A Level becomes operational.

2009
2010

▪️ Launch of Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers & Trainers (CIDTT).

▪️ ISA award by the British Council for the 2nd consecutive year.
▪️ ISO 9001:2000 was upgraded to ISO 9001:2008.

2011
2012

▪️ The Manmohan Singh Scholarship for undergraduate study at Cambridge University awarded to Ms. Payosha Shah, the first of four Indian students to have won it.

▪️ Smt. Abha Dharam Pal became the CEO of USGS and PPSIJC. 
▪️ Dr. Saroj Anand took over as Principal of USGS and PPSIJC.

2013
2014

▪️ Smt. Abha Dharam Pal became the first Educationist in the world to win Honorary Black Belt in Goju-Ryu Karate. 
▪️ Upgradation from CIDTT to Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers & Learners (CIDTL).
▪️ Installation and implementation of the SIMS Learning Gateway (SLG), a Management Information System called SIMS.net, provided by CAPITA of UK to facilitate real-time data availability and to keep parents informed about their ward’s progress.
▪️ Took phenomenal strides in the advancement of infrastructure through installation of Interactive boards in each classroom.
▪️ Set up of a control room that monitors all classrooms and corridors to ensure utmost security.

▪️ Smt. Rakhi Mukherjee took on the position of Principal of USGS & PPSIJC.
▪️ ISA award by the British Council for the 3rd consecutive year.
▪️ Upgradation to ISO: 2015.
▪️ School building renovated with state of the art infrastructure and central air conditioning.
▪️ First school to have 8 entries in the Limca Book of World Records.
▪️ Positions of LSI (Learning Support Integrators) introduced to facilitate a focused, better coordinated and concerted effort towards planning and delivering the curriculum.

2015
2016

▪️ Only school to bag jury award at the India International Science Film Festival, Delhi.

▪️ Film made in house by staff and students bags the Silver Beaver Award (Second Prize) at the 7th National Science Film Festival held in Kolkata.
▪️ Adopted a village in Wada District and launched a “Sustainable Development Program” in collaboration with Oxford University.
▪️ Four student interns from Oxford University, UK and Seoul National University, Korea, interned with USGS for the project- ‘The Sustainable Development of a Village’.
▪️ Launch of a new ERP system-Skolaro
▪️ Launch of the Rotaract Club Of PPSIJC, under the aegis of Rotary Club Of Mumbai North Island.

2017
2018

▪️ Introduction of GCMUN –hosted by PPSIJC students.

▪️ Principal Smt. Rakhi Mukherjee inducted into the Advisory Board of Cambridge International Education Advisory Board, heading South Asia.
▪️ Launch of TEDx PPSIJC.

2019
2020

▪️ First school in Maharashtra to receive Accreditation by Cognia- the consortium of 3 of the largest, oldest and most prestigious US Regional Accreditors.

▪️ Playground renovated to include a synthetic court and artificial turf.
▪️ 5th floor added to the existing structure with a sound proof AV and recording room.

Our Principal Mrs. Rakhi Mukherjee received a citation for being one of the ’50 Most Influential Principals of India’ by World Education Congress 2021.
