Saturday, March 12, 2022, went down as another red-letter day in the history of Utpal Shanghvi Global School when it organised the marvellous Children’s Bazaar – a magnificent and electrifying programme held at the refurbished and revamped HASMUKH R. MEHTA PLAYGROUND. The nostalgic event was arranged by TEAM USGS led by the PTA Chairperson, Mrs. Rakhi Mukherjee; PTA Secretary, Mrs. Yvonne Shishupal and the PTA President, Mrs. Dhaval Bhayani, on the magical theme ‘A Peek into the Enchanted World’.
Once upon a time – became a reality! The enchanted themes included Moana, Aladdin, Shrek, Hotel Transylvania, and Encanto… it was nothing short of the enchanted book that literally opened the gates to the fairytale world. A blaze of enchanting 36 stalls captivated the grounds. Ecstasy, elation, delight and excitement were just a few of the many emotions visible, as everyone’s faces lit up with wide smiles and feelings of sheer pleasure. With about a whopping 5000 people at the venue, the ground was adorned with many danglers, selfie booths, sparkles, glitter and fairy lights.
Be it a selfie with chess pieces from our all-time favourite ‘Alice in the Wonderland’ or standing on an optical illusion that looked like a whirlpool, the ground scenario was magically picture perfect. In the 360-degree photo booth, technology met magic. The entire place was illuminated beautifully.
In this magical journey, one could take breaks at the mouth-watering food stalls alongside fancy game stalls where the hosts at the stall were dressed in stunning costumes and visitors too could dress up as their favourite fairytale or legendary character.
USGS also included one stall on Sustainable Development. This stall sold bags made by differently-abled children. The funds collected were donated to an orphanage. A counter on the theme – ‘E-Waste’ had uniquely made a robot out of electronic waste.
To add to some competitive spirit, there were in-house judges on their rounds, leading to announcements of prize winners by our chief guest Mr. Mehul Mehta the Honorary Jt. Treasurer of JPES along with our vibrant Principal Mrs. Mukherjee and Vice Principal Mrs. Amonkar. Adding some glow to the event, famous on-screen actress and an active USGS parent, Mrs. Rupali Ganguli, gave excellent feedback, appreciating the efforts of students and the PTA.
To sum it all, the Children’s Bazaar was a stupendous success. More importantly, while the evening broke the spell of the unhappy world of the lockdown, the enchanted and happy world of fantasy left everyone spellbound and mesmerized.
