A GRAND CELEBRATION BY THE PTA
18th September, 2022 goes down as another red-letter day in the history of the Parent-Teacher Association (2022-2023) of Utpal Shanghvi Global School.
After two long years of Covid-19 lockdown, the Hasmukh R. Mehta ground once again opened to the foot-tapping tunes of the traditional garba-dandiya music. Hence, the perfect name for the fabulous event – SHUBHAARAMBH! – meaning ‘a new beginning’. With barely 4 days in hand, the PTA took on this truly-happening event to a new high!
The initiative of the PTA brought the entire family of USGS and PPSIJC under one umbrella, be it the school management, the students, the parents and the staff. The equalizing moment pulled one and all (more than 1,100 attendees) to the dance floor, swaying and grooving to the beats of the tantalizing melodies.
It was an honour to have the members of the Managing Council, JPES – Mr. Jayesh Choksi, Mr. Jayesh Shah, Mr. Harish Choksi, Mrs Jayeshree Goswami and Mr.Mehul Mehta join the grand event. The musical evening was led by PTA Chairperson – Mrs. Rakhi Mukherjee, PTA Secretary – Mrs. Yvonne Shishupal and PTA President – Mr. Rusit Patel.
A sense of togetherness is the very essence of our Indian culture and this colourful, action-packed and musical event brought everyone on one common platform. Dressed in traditional Garba ensembles, the evening was indeed a glamorous and lively host of colours. A slight drizzle during the event added to the fun and entertainment.
Dazzling lights and decorations to the 50ft x 30ft magnificent stage was one of the highlights of the evening. To add to that, the live band, Drum Beats, led by Manish Parekh, enthralled the dancers who swished and swayed to the folk music and songs, adding to the flavour which left the audience begging for more.
The energetic and vigorous dancing aside, one is always hungry and thirsty at the end of it. The lavish live food counters were thronged by the voracious eaters who were ready to devour the sumptuous snacks – be it the some Italian pav bhaji or pizza or the South Indian delicacies.
To keep the challenge and competition on, prizes are a must! 10 categories of prizes included best dressed male, female, male child, female child, best male dancer, best female dancer, best male child dancer, best female child dancer, best dancing couple and best dressed family.
