Student Council

The purpose of the Student Council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organising and carrying out school activities and events. In addition to this, they contribute to the school spirit and community welfare, and are the voice of the student body.

Students have a valuable contribution to make to the effectiveness of their school and their involvement in the operation of the school is itself a valuable part of the education process for the students. The Student Council provides an opportunity for students to engage in a structured partnership with teachers, parents and school authorities in the operation of their school.

It gives students an opportunity to acquire the sort of communication, planning and organisational skills which will be beneficial to them in their future lives. It enables them to take responsibility for projects, and to demonstrate that they can manage and bring such projects to a successful conclusion.

Their role includes: ­

• To enhance communication between students, staff and parents.
• To promote an environment conducive to educational and personal development.
• To promote friendship and respect among students.
• To support the management and staff in the development of the school.
• To represent the views of the students on matters of general concern to them.

The Student Council of Utpal Shanghvi Global School is an integral part of this institution. It is a group of bright, young, enthusiastic students, each of whom is an all-rounder and an achiever in his or her own right.

All the Council members lead their house ably, motivating and encouraging students to participate and do their best in all Inter House Competitions.

They are all in turn supported by the Class leaders & Representatives, as well as Peer Mentors and Bus Volunteers who are trained to take charge of classes and look into day to day issues of those classes as well as maintain discipline in the school buses.The students all strongly believe in their house mottos and consider it a matter of great pride and honour to contribute to their house scores. The top scoring house is felicitated in a grand ceremony on 15^th of August each year.

Investiture Ceremony 

It was a proud moment for the USGS Student Council of 2023-2024 when they took charge on the 26th of January 2023. Here they are, charged and ready to take on any challenges that come their way and we can’t wait to begin the new academic year with them!

In the words of John Maxwell , ‘Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another.’ 

The USGS  Student Council (2023-2024) is here to influence and inspire us with their impeccable leadership, enthusiastic disposition and praise-worthy values. We welcome the new team with great cheer and aplomb.
